I agree,alot of rock and metal drumming is simple.Listen to guns and roses,Fairly straight forward to play but still fun and effective.But to me an excellent drummer can play both highspeed technical drumming and still play simple effect drumming as well. Arcturus' drumming is far from simple,but he can still do basic roc as well.

its funny that a lot of drummers are only in for the speed and complicated stuff but this drummers got feel and listen to all of it the basic pattern may be simple but listen to the little things and the tone he gets from his kit! also typr sean kinney in to youtube and look at that looks simple but it really aint! metal is the most simple drumming in the world!

Take away the vocals and this is just a rehashed XTC song. Genius my ass. This stuff was being done 30 years ago, and it was better. I'm sick of these crap indie bands from the UK, bloody NME scenesters, they're like a plague and they all sound the same. Eat me, indie-boys!
