Christopher, where is your nation-building ambition in Africa? I realize you're proud of your new American identity, but WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY to fight multiple wars of occupation, no matter how desirable. Such occupations would need to meet a standard of absolute necessity, and in such cases, we would probably not need to act unilaterally. Also, the Bush regime is extremely corrupt. An invasion, however well-conceived by you, will be implemented by rotten, rotten men.

I'm not impressed by this discussion. All three of these so called Liberals are not Liberals they're hypocritical warmongers.

"America is the reason for the worlds existance today" And the reason why they consume 40% of the world resources. "We have the most advanced military" Yeah we`ve noticed that after your continous invations to other countries, killing innocent people and destroying many democracies (that u claim to defend) "the communist liberals of the world protest our war" The same as any average thinking person. Liberals seem to be one of the few thinking people we can find in that aspect.

"They want to demonize our nation" Your nation has demonized itself. "our history" You mean the history and tradition u took away from the indians. "and our morals" What morals? "FUCKING ATTACKED US, ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS" Funny that after 9/11, Bush family started to have skyrocketing incomes. "to better the world (Iraq)" 3 weeks ago aproximately, 100 civilians died due to US attacks, most of them where women and children. Sure, you are improving Iraq SO MUCH.

God, Charlie Rose is such a twat. He seems to have dedicated his professional career to the endless (and fruitless) task of trying to show that he is smarter than his guests. I've never seen him succeed, but that doesn't seem to deter him.

Well said. It's also important to note that the monopoly on violence has been in the West for the last 200 years. Specifically with the United States over the course of the last sixty as we have been without question the worlds lead superpower. Starting with Truman and Eisenhower and up to Bush II, we are the most violent country on earth. "If the Nuremberg laws were applied, every post WW2 President starting with Truman would have been hanged." - Noam Chomsky

On what grounds do you claim that we have the 'most moral culture"? How are you defining morality and what is your method of comparison? Typical indicators include levels of drug use, teen pregnancy, education, health care, productivity, pollution levels, freedom of press, and so on. Taking these into account, the US usually ranks in the mid 20's. Don't get me wrong, I'm not claiming the US is evil or at the bottom, but everyone who spouts "US is #1" needs to clarify those standards.
