Cigarette smoke can look very much like clouds, very much like the thoughts that Elliot comes up with in this video, it's as if the thoughts are coming into his head, like clouds that drift across the sky, random. It is very pertinent because cigarettes killed Elliot, like they killed many others. We know it's killing us but we smoke anyway. Don't kid yourself, smokers, it is suicide. I get it. I don't smoke either, but this video has nothing to do with smoking. You just pulled the comments about smoking and health out of thin air. I agree. I think smoking is disgusting. However, this is a video about Elliott Smith; not smoking. All I'm saying is that your comments do not pertain to this video.

I appreciate your constructive criticism as well. I mean that with all my buttocks. Now why would anyone put a cigarette in their mouth if they wouldn't in their butt. Think about it, cigarette butt. It's absolutely disgusting and very apt to associate that disgusting white cancer stick with that other stinking thing, the anus or butt. Thank you for your kind comments.

Everyone knows cigarettes are bad for the heart. Usually the heart gets a lot more credit than other organs such as the liver and kidneys. Who says, my kidney bleeds, or I love you with all my liver. But in terms of cigarettes and the damage that they cause, everyone refers to the lungs. I think you've made a very valid point. Thank you for enlightening me and I hope you continue to not smoke, it's not good for your heart.

i'm sorry...did i miss something? did he write like a million songs about cigarettes? did he even write ONE song about cigarettes? maybe you should actually listen to his words. now, i'm not a smoker, and am pretty against it, but i know it has nothing to do with a knife in someone's heart. i'm sure we would all give elliott 100 cartons of cigarettes to bring him back, were it that easy. you, sir/ma'am, are a disrespectful moron - and those two things are bad enough on their own.

And I know LOTS of people who smoke and are really happy, and know many depressed ones that don't smoke, so NO, smoking an depression are NOT correlated.
Sure, SMOKING SUCKS BIG TIME, and it ruins your healt, but you CAN'T be SO stupid to think that cigarretes killed Elliot. And NO, people who are addicted to tobaco DON'T get depressed when they don't smoke, they get anxious. Ok... let's try to use the brain a little.
First, there are plenty of things that reduce life expectancy, for example, eating junk food, breathing on a polluted city, not doing exercise, being exposed to some kinds of electromagnetic waves, etc. So, you don't have to be suicidal to be exposed to those things. I know lots of happy people that do those things.
