Lots of long comments below, can't be bothered to read them.

You're absolutely deluded Thrillcekr. Some of the most talented in this sport aren't all fighting in the ufc for one. 2nd of all , some of the very best are still unjustly paid like shit. P4P elites such as Hansen ,Aoki, Kawajiri , Ribeiro will never step a foot inside the octagon. Doesn't make them worthless because of it. All american champs have been ridiculed in this sport. It's been done several times. Couture is a perfect example of this actually. (he went to the same org as fedor did)

In affliction's latest card Tim Sylvia (who ended up being defeated in a few seconds by fedor) , won $800.000 . Fedor on the other hand , only 300.000 or maybe a bit more. But the huge difference between these two is that one gets a percentage of ppv.

He's been "today's news" for a decade. (well almost). He was the last fighter who left "rings" with both belts , the last fight to hold the pride belts (again , grand prix + hw belts), his latest belt in affliction is just part of the routine. There's actually no one else like him in this sport. For the record , emelianenko also happens to be the best paid fighter in mma history. (we're talking 2 to 3 million per fights)

Fedor is just today's news. Just like every other former chance once was. Somebody will beat him and, as the past proves, most likely it'll be an American fighter. There really aren't plenty. Just like there aren't plenty of better pro boxers fighting in leagues nobody has ever heard of. The UFC is where the biggest money is and any fighter with the skills is gonna fight in it because they gotta make a living like anyone else. |
