Mitsubishi had difficulties in 2001 with the Lancer Evo VII WRC. They had been using the Evo VI Gp.A car before the FIA forced them to the WRC car. Makinen struggled mightily with the Evo VII. I know that was one cause for him moving to Subaru; not sure of other reasons...

Tommi,Tommi,Tommi,wygrywał pojazdem grupy A, teoretycznie mocniejszymi w specyfikacji potworami z grupy WRC.Talent na miarę ostatniego 20-lecia.Jak widac z Risto dogadywał się najlepiej,z Kajem Lindstromem tak dobrze nie szło.Cztery z rzędu tytuły mistrza świata, teraz tylko Loeb jest bardziej utytułowany.

Tommi is a great driver,what he did with the EVO....sadly the Impreza was not reliable

Ha ha, remember the 1st time I saw Tommi moon-walking in the golden boots when he clocked the camera on him, just off the cuff, went into the Jacko routine, absolutely priceless, forever the showman. Still chuckling yet.....man, could he drive an Evo...... a Scooby, Escort, etc, etc....ROCK ON TOMMI!!!

THE MAN! MR. MAKINEN =) Long live the legends of rallying! RIP, Colin McRae and Richard Burns. All I can say is, that these drivers are RALLY GODS. As a fan of WRC, I'll never forget them.
