McCain never had a chance after Lehman Brothers collapsed. He was about four points ahead until all that stuff on Wall Street happened and it was never the same afterward. That being said, there's a expression in American politics called "governing between the forty yard lines", and that's what Obama will be largely be held to because of the nature of our system of government. There will be no card check, Fairness Doctrine, government healthcare or other nonsense. It won't be allowed.

Great music for Obama's victory. Very inspirational. The music choices are usually pop classics, meant to be uplifting and cheery, but not moving or history-making. This music suited the night perfectly.

Honestly, George Bush is too weak of a President. I am not sure how he even made it onto the Republican ticket for the elections.
As for Nixon, people act like the Democrats never conducted espionage on their rivals during the elections or the presidential years.
Both parties have been doing that back and forth for a long time. Nixon should have owned up to it, and it wouldn't have been a big issue. The Democrats love to make big news of small happenings.

First of all, the Democratic-Republican party is in no way related to the parties of today, if you know your history.
The Republican party has been around since the times of President Abraham Lincoln, hence the GOP (Grand Old Party).
The Democratic party has changed very much since World War II, they are almost in no way related any more (maybe besides the unions). My Father used to be a Democrat, but as time went by, he switched to the right side, because of the bad turn the Dems took.

at the DNC rally and on election night. What a day that was. I instantly remembered the movie and the emotion of it.
