I think it is evil to recruit children before the age of critical thinking to a religion by force of family and cultural pressure. Religions - most anyway - do just that. It is morally wrong. "Evil" is a loaded word. I prefer the term "Sick" - for things that are obviously shocking to the rest of us...

Religion is not evil. People are evil. It's the same thing with guns. "Guns don't kill people, people kill people." Also in the case of money. "Money is not the root of evil, people are the root of evil." What i'm getting at here is inanimate things are not evil, it's people and how we look at things as being evil.

It was never a system of thought that attracted me, nor a system of power which it is. I also think the term 'atheist' is problematic. I prefer the term humanist.

Well I was raised by a very bitter ex Catholic, first off, so I have a deep understanding of the particular insanity of Catholicism, it's deep sexism and homophobia, hypocrisy and its abuses of it's power. I went to Catholic school and it was clear neither the girls there nor the nuns who taught them had any special key to being compassionate humans. I didn't 'become' atheist. I was baptised as an infant. THEY say I am Catholic. I have never agreed. It is abuse to claim an infant to any faith.

Sorry, i don't believe in god, i am agnostic which is basically. You don't believe but you know there is no evidence to prove it wrong, but there is so much evidence pointing to the big bang, so i'm going with that. I do not believe in a supernatural being that created the universe, i know there was the big bang.
