Of course it suggests that God is man-made.
I don't need to give up any premises. I've never argued that anyone actually was a prohet of any god. My only point was that it is wrong to label Muhammed as a pedophile. That term doesn't make any sense for people living in 7th century Arabia.
It does however make sense to use about people living today who thinks the it's a good idea to do as people did in 7th century Arabia and that they can justify it by claiming it to be a part of their dogma.

What does God's command change depending on the cultural norms of the time? Doesn't this suggest religion is man-made? If pedophelia really is bad, and if Muhammad really was a prophet of God, he should have _known_ it was bad. Which of the premises do you want to give up:
1) being a pedophile is bad
2) muhammad was a prophet of god
My problem is not (per se) that many people were pedophiles. It is that a pedophile is chosen an example of a perfect human and mouthpiece of God.

Muhammed may have been immoral, but this is a bad example. Robert Spencer has a point.
Muhammed cannot be called pedophile, since the standards by which we judge if a person is a pedophile was not available at the time. Sure he married a 6 year old, but so did everyone else at the time.
The problem is not what Muhammed did, but that there are people TODAY taking his actions as a good moral example in our modern world.

Actually, Darfur is in so bad shape particularly *because* the West have ignored the problem and done almost nothing to help, despite the post-colonial legacy from which that region of Africa suffers.

first off, i'm not a muslim. secondly, would it be fair if only muslim women got respect, but not men? equality should be for all people, including muslims and women. so if you think muslim women deserve respect, shouldn't muslim men get respect too? that would only seem equal.
