this is starting to take off in the US. PayPass is at lots of gas stations and 711 and movie theaters. Blaze mobile even did a sticker that you can put on your phone if it doesn't have NFC capability.

It has been in the US for several years - just a matter of the roll-out reaching a critical mass. If you really want it - tell the people at the cash-register!!

nfc-triggered payments are more secure than cash, more convenient, faster, they cost the retailer less, and they are easier. I'd much rather this than the on-going paranoia about the world changing and going digital. Wake up mate!

There is a PIN you can set up.

That's really cool, that phone can replace my entire wallet, well except your driver's license, but you can just shove that in a pocket somewhere, and this phone in another pocket and you're set. I hope this technology comes to the US soon.

Just one more nail in the coffin of American currency. Pretty soon people who pay with cash will be regarded with the same degree of indignation as smokers or homosexuals. Everyone needs to reject this effort of Big Brother to get people willing to accept an ID chip in exchange for convenience. Today the chip is in the phone. Tomorrow it's in your wrist.
