This NS train is stopping for a north bounder(The NS SD70 video). The BNSF SD40-2 has the noisiest dynamic brake I've ever heard. The two GE's has a screaming dynamic brake. The engineer doesn't seam to interested in giving a full blast of air to the K-5LAR24 horn today.

Exactly RS5TRRO, and I bet the engineer's sphinter muscle could of snapped a 16 penny nail in half.lol

the hill downhill grade just around the corner helps slow the train too.

I am surprised at the so called "experts" who have posted comments about this, that can't tell the difference between dyn. bk. and the turbo in power. Who gives a dead mooses last shit either way. At least he got stopped. Thats what I shoot for when I am running!

I assure you that this train was in full dynamic brake, with a large air brake application on as he passed the camera. I am an engineer for NS on this route, and Lancing is on a 1.1% grade. If he hadn't been in full dynamic here at the speed he was going, he'd have ran through the block which is just out of view around the curve.

considering, there on a steep grade stopping on a hill , the db's are going to be loud.

Arrrggghhh!!! I read the comments on the suggested video. Hilarious!! Well..as it is 925pm here. I gotta lay down for a bit. On duty at 12mid...Oh the joy!! (but it is at overtime rate..so that eases the pain a little!)

That's very funny! Do a search on YouTube for Whining EB Intermodal, there is a clip of a train at Keddie Wye with one of the loudest dynamic brakes I have ever heard echoing off the valley walls. The comments will make you laugh. Have you ever heard a radiator fan whine like a dynamic fan? I ran a train here in the Australian summer last week, and with 3800 tonnes being hauled in heat over 100 degrees F I never once heard a radiator fan!
