the round tailight and the suare tailights on both sw20 is still considered the gen 2 mr2(i have this conversion on mine). the gen 2 sw20 started with the gen 2 3sgte. the gen 1 3sgte was first found in the older celica alltracs. it was never in the the sw20 chasis. the 3sgte went from 1st gen in the celica alltrac to the 2nd gen in the mr2. 3rd gen 3sgte was also in the sw20 chasis. and the 4th gen 3sgte can be found in the caldina.

Haha, your in america arnt yah? In Nz, Japan, and alot of europe, you have the 3 Mr2's (Aw, Sw and ugly ass spider). The sw20 are classed from Gen 1 to Gen 5 (each having a change from the last), gen 3 is when the tail lights changed to the round shape (NOT the spider). (and for reference, the "gen 5" sw20 had the beams motor)

3sgte was in the gen 2 sw20s. the gen 3 mr2s had the 1zz. there is no 3agte that im aware of but there is a 3sge beams motor that was in the gen 2 mr2s.
