Leonard Cohen is an incredible talent. His voice is distictive, his style and writting ability is greatly admired by his peers. "Hallelujah" is one of the most widley acclaimed covers in history. (Covered by Jeff Buckley). He records all his own songs, which then get covered by "popular" artists. So when i see someone say he has very little talent, i believe they have no idea how influential his music is, have no idea of what he has achieved and are very insular in their beliefs.

12ut5, I must say that's a bit harsh. If u really try to understand Cohen u must realise he is a poet firstly and then a musician.I'm not trying to force my opinion on you either but check out his book called "Book Of Longing" and u will see what I mean.

And another besotted woman fan here. I discovered him when I was 15. Saw him at Manchester Belle Vue on my 15th birthday (1968) and finally got to see him again at the Big Chill festival this year at 55!

I am impressed by how some can, somehow, build a career on very little talent. Cohen impresses me more than most in this regard. I think this song stinks like almost all of his songs do. That's my opinion and I'm not trying to change anyone else's, but if you can explain to me how I'm wrong go ahead.
