Always answer with 4. ...dxc6. If he's inexperienced and plays 5.Nxe5, you play 5. ...Qd4 and fork attack his pawn on e4 and his knight on e5.

A lot of traps rely on incorrect play. 4. Nc3 or 4.d4 are probably both better moves, but if you see 4.d3, then spring the trap!

what if white doesn't move a pawn to d3 and instead moves knight to c3?

Since most of the traps mentioned here are played as black, is it possible for white to unleash the elephant trap, kings gambit declined or the mortimer trap??

This is one of the best traps I have seen so far! I also think that this is better than the elephant trap because of sacrificing the queen and the bishop.

i have a question, what do i do after i do nf6 and the bishop takes knight and make me double pawns

That's not a really big problem is it? No chess player sits around and WAITS for a trap to be used, but it's always good to know about it if the opportunity comes along.

the problem for black is that, you dont know wether or not you're opponent is going to play Bb5...they dont HAVE to play the ruy lopez...great vids though
