yeah oslo is nice and simple at day, but in the night the police gets busy. Oslo has 4 times more crime-rate than New York, google on it if you don't believe. im born in Oslo. and it's very expensive there to like the rest of the country, a 20 pack of cigarettes cost 80 kroner, and that's 10 euro's. Good travel!

posted the last comment as a reply to an earlier comment, but it came up here at the start instead for some reason? Just to put it in context i was replying to a post which was saying how Oslo is pretty grotty despite being such a wealthy city. Think it can be explained only by a serious lack of vision and civic pride. Oslo is a beautiful city but has just suffered at the hands of poor planning in the past and a current lack of vision.

it's the same here in dublin. Supposedly the 2nd richest city in the world in the 5th richest country. I'm half norwegian and I reckon civic pride in our cities is seriously lacking!
