I met Kirk Mcdonald today.
He gave me an autograph.
He's extremely nice and talented.
I was at Humber college at the time he was rating the bands from the festival.

One of the many great unsung hero's of jazz guitar. He has been nailing it for 30+ years. But... the industry hardly acknowledges or has room to amidst the din of pop jazz or 12 year old pedigreed offspring. Jazz guitar is a very different sub genre of jazz. Some players going for this type of sound lose the swinging
lilt and it gets mushy... Lorne nails the time promoting forward motion. Just a fan... been enjoying his playing for over 30 years.

Lorne is a very nice man, and a wonderful guitarist who has played with greats like Oscar Peterson. It's cool that he uses that 80s Ibanez solidbody guitar, too!

I met Lofsky at a masterclass, very informative class he gave. Not only a great musician, teacher, but very easy to talk to, no ego. Learned alot from him.

Thanks for checking minionette, I probably won't be back until at least July so I guess I won't be able to enjoy that one. |
