Don't agree it will make the rest look drab, not if your talking about the beautiful architecture/momuments. Don't want it simply looking like Hong Kong, (nice), but ...This is what keeps London unique!

The "City" is the name given to an area of approx 1 square mile in Central London; in fact it's also called "the square mile". It is bordered roughly by the Thames to the South, Kingsway to the West, Aldgate to the East and Moorgate to the North. It is the original heart of the financial district (now rivalled by the new district of Canary Wharf). The City still houses the Stock Exchange, St Paul's Cathedral, Lloyds and the 2nd and 3rd tallest buildings in Britain.

To be honest, I think Canary Wharf is ugly. High rise skyscrapers are ugly. Old London is beautiful, but cities in general are ugly. I much prefer countryside and the land. I WANT MY OWN COUNTRY ESTATE DAMMIT, or in the words of Sarah 'Lunatic Christian' Palin, I WANT MY OWN COUNTRY ESTATE DOGGONIT.

I have a question for Londoners. I'm Canadian and would like to know where in London is the place called "The City" located?? I heard it's kind of like Great Britain's Wall Street or Toronto Stock Exchange. :)
