Actually the re-released this version on their current label (Far Out Recordings in the UK). It's on the album "Pure". The whole album is available via Far Out's website or iTunes. -

It's not really smooth jazz at all - it's classic jazz fusion as you say. It's what the group was known for, whether it be their own works or what they did with other musicians at the time (Ana Mazzotti, etc.)

Yeah, really amazing music from a amazing group. They are from Brazil, toured the US a lot in the mid 70's 80's and 90's. They were a part of the mid 70's fusion era with a brazilian-latin and samba music style.

Wow!, i really didn't know that. it's just sounds so tropical and peaceful to me. Something you would play if you were on the beach at a friends party and the sun was begining to set. but man, i really got to look into these guys. i love jazz. especialy when it touches me like this.

Would you really define this as Smooth Jazz. To me, its a very progressive latin-jazz groove. Azymuth, have been composing in this vain since the mid 70's far before this "Smooth Jazz" thing. I really like them!
