VIVA VIRGEN DEL PILLAR-ORA PRO NOBIS.....Long Live Virgin of the Pillar- pray for us......karakol has been part of the lives of imuseno, they do this as an act of offering they offer their dances to Our Mother.....but the traditional karakol is starting to fade away....the traditional band has been altered with the loed speakers....and the traditional music has been drastically modernized and adapted to contemporary rythm ..Bring Back the Old tradions.....VIVA LA SENORA DEL PILAR.....VIVA IMUS!!

My sentiments exactly. Glad to know you're still a true blue Caviteno at heart.
FYI: The Bayan Luma Karakol is different from the Karakol ng Bayan which is held every Oct.11. The Bayan Luma version is always held on the Sunday before the Oct. 12 fiesta. I wasn't able to see the Karakol ng bayan because I had to be at work in Manila.

karakol is very unique to us Cavitenos, the only one thing I don't like about that is when the musical band plays sitcom/noon time show jingles. traditional karakol tunes should be played as a respect for the Blessed Mother of the Pillar - Nana Pilar. Bacoorean from Norcal. |
