I saw this in the movies when I was 6 years old. I was TERRIFIED-but also loved it. To this day, my family and I gather every Christmastime to watch this classic. Finney is fabulous-and so specific-in his portrayal. And the score is beautiful as well. Incidentally, I have the soundtrack-on VINYL from 1970!

The late great Alec Guinness at his best. Though I would question the singing! Although this was v good ,I still prefer the Alastair Sim version. |
