I think the point is less about exclusivity, and more about hiring models who aren't going to die of cardiac arrest on the runway. Jil Sander, herself, never hired models of this age and body type. She hired women who looked like women, and they demonstrated her pencil thin silhouette with elegance and grace.

i disagree. i love a long pencil thin silhouette, gives the dress/pant/jacket a beautiful form. i know many women wont be able to wear jil sander becos the aesthetic is so narrow, that is also part of its appeal: its not easily accessible, fit wise and price wise.
