jlh, muddy waters, robert johnson are all great blues players. bb and buddy guy are great, but the ones mentioned above just have an essence to them. maybe im more of a delta blues fan than rhythym and blues.

Why is delta blues so significant cause they're telling a story that very many few can bring to life on a guitar. Any one can be great with guitar but if you cant tell a story and show your soul you're not right to play the blues. Too bad this man is gone he was a great.

Present-day guitarists better than Hooker? Newton said that if he had seen farther than other men, it was because he had stood on the shoulders of giants. Eric Clapton may play better than Hooker, but he has stood on his shoulders and those of Wille Johnson, Lemon Jefferson and many others. Clapton won't "admit" that - he'll claim it.
