No, Marriott was gonna give Tin Soldier to PP, but based on her reaction he decided to keep it. I'm almost positive they don't play on this one, it just sounds like horns and strings were added. I'm pretty sure you got this one mixed with "(If You Think You're) Groovy"..there you can clearly notice Plonk's bass and the Faces on backing vocals.

Love this version! i've never heard of it before. I love this song so much more now. there's so much more emotion than the later versions.
