If the caste system served any useful societal purpose in ancient Indias past we with our modern eyes cannot fairly judge. However, I would like to think in the 21st century our consciousness has risen and we have realized the injustice in continuing such a system. If India wants to be herald as a fully democratic and modern society, there is no place for a system that discriminates against 300 million humans. Change might be slow, but the rest of the civilized world must demand it.

There is a mention of Caste system in some of our literatures, although not much importance is give to them, and it doesn't says that caste of a person is defined by his Parents ,instead it's one's deeds and qualities is what makes him belong to a particual caste according to the scriptures, it's only later on that it all started getting decided based on one's lineage. On one side we have left this age old pathetic thing in our religion but Islam has no scope of improvement inbuilt in it.

Situation is not as grim as this video shows for so called Dalits, in India we have 28 percent reservation for them in Govt jobs, Chief Minister of one of our state is a Dalit, it's one of a increasingly rare cases, we(Hindus) have understood that it was all wrong and have rectified it, infact one can be booked for practising Untouchability in India. In next 30-40 years it would all be gone for sure.
